How do I clean my bellicon?

Use hydrogen peroxide. It should not affect the mat material. For general cleaning, using a towel with warm water and a small amount soap is also ok, some customers even purchase tea tree oil, mix that with water, and use that to clean it. It has a nice scent and also gives it a little shine.

How often do you need to replace bungee cords?

Bungee bands are wear out items and need to be replaced after a certain time.

Their life span varies depending on

  • the strength of bungee bands (soft, medium, strong, x-strong, ultra)
  • the weight of the person(s) using the Rebounder
  • the length of time used (how many minutes per day),
  • the intensity of usage (how strong  the persons are  bouncing on the Rebounder - how high are they jumping)

Our clients are using a set for a duration from 9 months to up to 6 years. Most of them exchange them after 1 1/2 years. It is a bit like with a tennis shoe: If you run a Marathon every second day, you 'll need to replace the shoes quicker as if you'd just walk a bit every once in a while.

How do you know that you have to replace the bungee bands?

It is very obvious when you have to replace the bungee bands. They fray out over many months, little by little. Just before they are "through", that means: Just before you see the rubber interior of the bungee bands, you need to exchange them. Don't wait too long as you don't want to have them snap. You exchange a full set at a time.

How to exchange bungee cords?

It is very easy to replace the bungee bands as each bungee band is on a separate hook. You just unhook the old bungee and replace it with a new. Than you do the next one and so forth. It takes about 10 minutes to replace the full set. The easiest is to put the Rebounder upside down on a table. That gives you a good access to the bungee bands.

What is Pronation?

All about Pronation - click here.

A rebounder does never make you pronate. You either pronate or you don't. And if you pronate, you do this in your normal life. The Rebounder acts here like a magnifying glass and shows you a habit that you have. It is very helpful to change this habit as it is not healthy to pronate in daily life.  It is your muscles in the feet that hold your feet in the correct position. If these muscles are weak, you can train them. In most cases you just have to consciously put your feet in a 90% angle towards the floor (or the Rebounder mat) and this is all it needs

Rebounding with or without shoes?

Shoes, sneakers, sox or barefoot - what is the best way to rebound? Like so often, the answer is "it depends". It depends on the physical strength of your ankles. Let's start with 95% of the people whoes ankles are fine, that means stable. To those 95% of all people we recommend to bounce barefoot or in socks that don't slip.

The reason why bouncing without shoes or sneakers is preferable, is because you would loose part of the benefits of Rebounding when you wear shoes/sneakers. You would loose the stimulation of the proprioceptors, sensatory receptors, on the sole of our feet. External link opens in new tab or windowProprioception is the sense that indicates whether the body is moving with required effort, as well as where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other. Proprioceptors are highly stimulated by moving on uneven surface. If you were shoes, the surface of your soles becomes even again.

It is important however that we are not slipping on the Rebounder. Therfeore, do not wear slippery sock like woolen socks. . Barefoot is fine, unless it is too cold or unless your feet are very dry and become slippery.

Now let's speak about the other 5% who have ankles that are not so strong. Some of them need more stabilization and in this case, it is recommended to wear shoes/sneakers which stabilize the ankle.
